…well I most certainly will not
I never wanted to write on this subject but because she’s popular and EVERYWHERE all the time, it’s inevitable. I touched upon it briefly with the Inauguration 2013 scandal using humor to make a few points but I didn’t really get into it. The subject topic: Beyoncé. Or should I say BEYONCE?… because that itself is the problem.
Yes, Racism exists and bigots still have a supernatural ability to outlive the average human being. But despite all the evils in the world there are still good people out there, who continuously do good things. And our natural being, the science of Life proves racism wrong every time. They promote love and equality and they do not judge or condemn. These people will help change the world just by being themselves. Whenever I come across them my heart smiles and my soul sings.
I’ve compiled a few faves for you…..
Kanye West is demanding that all images of him wearing a Givenchy Leather Kilt be deleted from a photo agency’s database. Is it because he wants to pull a Beyonce and own all images of him created or yet to be manifested? No not at all, its because he’s embarrassed and has the emotions of a prepubescent girl. Okay I just made that up, but I bet its true.
I believe in the saying “A Chacun Son Gout”, basically to each their own. I like Fashion, of course I do I’m a woman and I understand that taste and style cannot be universal but instead be defined by individuals for his or her own life. With that said, why wear it then try to pull a “no wait just kidding” when people start laughing at you? Let’s discuss it…
The U.S Marine Corps Band is snitching! They’re speaking names and giving side-eyes. Somebody is hella (an oldie but a goody) pissed that they didn’t get to play his/her instrument live. Either that or the conductor is mad Beyonce turned him into the mad hatter at the inaugural tea party.
By now I’m sure you know what I’m talking about – Beyonce Lip-Synced the National Anthem at President Obama’s Inaugural Ceremony. Scandalous! Disrespectful! Narcissistic! Well those were my thoughts to be completely honest. I am most certainly not a member of The Hive (Beyonce’s fan club) so I am immune to her influence. Well, when the allegations were implied her mindless drones attacked in full force arguing that we could not handle the truth that is Beyonce’s jelly. Riiiiiggggghhhhhhtttt O_o. Then, when it was confirmed that she used a pre-record, the tune changed but was still in favor of their Honey Bee. I’m really done with ya’ll. There are too many things too get into and since I don’t really care THAT much, I’ll keep it brief…
Yes! Yes! and YES!
I was not prepared for the influx of emotion that came upon me when I heard that NKOTB, 98 Degrees, AND Boyz II Men were coming together for a summer tour. I cannot contain the joy that will come from watching grown ass men imitate younger, more vibrant versions of themselves from yesteryear…oh the choreography, the sweat beaded foreheads, the pointing out into the crowd to that one….special….lady. Can you picture it? Black girls, White girls, Spanish and Asian too will all get their lives (get an urban dictionary…yes, they exist) and lose their panties to R&B songs of the 90’s. This is what we needed – no big over productions, no 3D tricks to cause epilepsy, just simple music with familiar faces.
I had the pleasure of seeing Boys II Men perform twice over the past year or so, and they did not disappoint. I’m doing my best not to post the poor quality video of me singing along karaoke style, feet away from the stage wishing that Mike would limp out from backstage. Fellas, get tickets for your ladies. Ladies, make it a Girls Night Out.
Tour Info and Dates after the break….
Everything is Expensive
I am really into Esthero’s new album. I first heard the title track, Everything Is Expensive, while trolling the net and found this album to be the soundtrack of the season. Well, of MY season really. Winter 2012-2013 – I started a blog, started a podcast, and reinvented my production company. I feel at peace in a world of chaos. You know the Christian rhetoric…”In the World, but not of it”. Yea, that’s how this album makes me feel. Special gems that stick out: Black Mermaid, You Don’t Get A Song (read an interview where she tells the story behind this one, love it), and SuperNatural (wink wink).
