It’s going down America!!!! This is it! We did it…we freaking did it! Human Beings are successfully killing their home. FANTASTIC! Either that or Prophecies are being fulfilled.
Here’s a brief summary on The Happening (pun intended):
The sea is turning red in some parts of the world, in others its foaming and covering everything in its way. Animals are dying left and right and natural disasters from earthquakes and tsunamis to tornadoes and devastating flooding. The most worrisome to me are the strange noises….
The U.S Marine Corps Band is snitching! They’re speaking names and giving side-eyes. Somebody is hella (an oldie but a goody) pissed that they didn’t get to play his/her instrument live. Either that or the conductor is mad Beyonce turned him into the mad hatter at the inaugural tea party.
By now I’m sure you know what I’m talking about – Beyonce Lip-Synced the National Anthem at President Obama’s Inaugural Ceremony. Scandalous! Disrespectful! Narcissistic! Well those were my thoughts to be completely honest. I am most certainly not a member of The Hive (Beyonce’s fan club) so I am immune to her influence. Well, when the allegations were implied her mindless drones attacked in full force arguing that we could not handle the truth that is Beyonce’s jelly. Riiiiiggggghhhhhhtttt O_o. Then, when it was confirmed that she used a pre-record, the tune changed but was still in favor of their Honey Bee. I’m really done with ya’ll. There are too many things too get into and since I don’t really care THAT much, I’ll keep it brief…
I don’t even know where to begin on the subject because its all so fu*ked up! But I will try.
From the first time I heard about the isolated military nation of North Korea I was absolutely fascinated… curiously frightened out of my mind, yet still fascinated. I was just a teen sitting in a classroom with my peers and I understood that we were getting a glimpse into something BIG. I saw POWER and I saw CONTROL.
Let’s start with why you should give a damn…..
Yes! Yes! and YES!
I was not prepared for the influx of emotion that came upon me when I heard that NKOTB, 98 Degrees, AND Boyz II Men were coming together for a summer tour. I cannot contain the joy that will come from watching grown ass men imitate younger, more vibrant versions of themselves from yesteryear…oh the choreography, the sweat beaded foreheads, the pointing out into the crowd to that one….special….lady. Can you picture it? Black girls, White girls, Spanish and Asian too will all get their lives (get an urban dictionary…yes, they exist) and lose their panties to R&B songs of the 90’s. This is what we needed – no big over productions, no 3D tricks to cause epilepsy, just simple music with familiar faces.
I had the pleasure of seeing Boys II Men perform twice over the past year or so, and they did not disappoint. I’m doing my best not to post the poor quality video of me singing along karaoke style, feet away from the stage wishing that Mike would limp out from backstage. Fellas, get tickets for your ladies. Ladies, make it a Girls Night Out.
Tour Info and Dates after the break….
Everything is Expensive
I am really into Esthero’s new album. I first heard the title track, Everything Is Expensive, while trolling the net and found this album to be the soundtrack of the season. Well, of MY season really. Winter 2012-2013 – I started a blog, started a podcast, and reinvented my production company. I feel at peace in a world of chaos. You know the Christian rhetoric…”In the World, but not of it”. Yea, that’s how this album makes me feel. Special gems that stick out: Black Mermaid, You Don’t Get A Song (read an interview where she tells the story behind this one, love it), and SuperNatural (wink wink).
